I’m starting out in design and keep hearing UI and UX. Can someone clarify the difference between the two?

UI Design (User Interface): Focuses on the visual elements of an interface—buttons, icons, typography, and layout. It’s about aesthetics.
UX Design (User Experience): Focuses on the overall feel of the product, ensuring it’s intuitive and user-friendly. UX involves research, wireframing, and testing. Simply put, UI is how it looks, and UX is how it works.
